To educate and empower our community, the Citizen Safety Coalition recently hosted a Forum on Crime at the Jewish Community Center.

Nearly 300 attendees heard from State Representative John DeBerry, Mayor A C Wharton, Mayor Joe Ford, Congressman Steve Cohen, Attorney General Bill Gibbons, Director Larry Godwin, Sheriff Mark Luttrell as well as victims of crimes committed with guns.

Members of the Citizen Safety Coalition are interested citizens, families of victims, elected officials and representatives of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, Hadassah, Memphis Area Home Builders Association, Apartment Association of Greater Memphis, Midtown Security Community, F.F.U.N. (Freedom From Unnecessary Negatives), Memphis Medical Center, the Shelby County Government Crime Victims Center, the Sea Isle Park Neighborhood Association, and the Memphis Shelby Crime Commission spearheading Operation: Safe Community.
